“As an Osteopath of 11 years, I use a wide variety of gentle hands-on techniques that focus on releasing tension whilst improving mobility and optimising function. I use these techniques together with providing useful health advice and exercise if required.
Using PDTR (Proprioceptive Deep Tendon Reflex) techniques, I assess and find out why your nervous system is creating pain in your body. This pain could be holding your overall performance back. In addition, I use manual muscle testing to assess the function of your nervous system and use gentle non-invasive stimulus to show the brain a new way of looking at things.
Instead of considering that a muscle is tight or a joint doesn’t move, I consider the reason why the nervous system has let that be. When you consider a computer, this is like looking at the coding as opposed to the computer itself.
People commonly visit osteopaths for muscular skeletal conditions such as back, neck, joint, muscle and arthritic discomfort. People also visit osteopaths for a variety of other health reasons including neuromuscular conditions such as sciatica, digestive issues, headaches and migraine prevention. Trauma is also a common reason to visit an osteopath.
After dealing with long term injuries myself consequently I became intrigued to understand how the body worked as a way of trying to fix myself. This led me on a journey of self-discovery and an interest in how to discover the root cause of the problem. During my 11 years of practice I have learnt how important all components of the body need to be working to keep us in health.
I’m fascinated about how the nervous system works and importantly, how our neurological system can be affected by physical and emotional triggers and traumas.”
Mario’s deep passion lies within functional biomechanics and neurology and continues to travel internationally to learn from the best in the industry. Above all, Mario’s philosophy is to find the true stressor and cause of your problem.
