I pride myself in not just helping you out of pain but getting you back to activities that you thought were not possible. I see my role as a partnership with you, so that we work together to achieve your end goal. That is why we only want to work with clients that want to take an active approach to their rehabilitation.
One of our key principles is understanding you and how your problem is affecting your life and the things that you love to do. Your story helps us devise an assessment that helps us uncover the root causes of your problem.
The Process: Making sense of your story!
We will have a brief chat on the phone before your appointment to see if we are the right fit for each other.
This will briefly outline some your issues and what they are preventing you from doing.
To formulate a plan of action though I will need to gather more information.
1: After our chat, I will ask you to send me a video of how you walk. Our gait cycle is super important as it explores all our 3-dimensional joint movements options in the body. Once I have analysed the video, we may start to identify differences between the R and L hand side of your body.
2: You will fill out my online initial consultation. In as much detail as possible please tell me about any physical injury history. No injury is too small or old so please tell me, as our bodies are so clever at moving around and compensating for old injuries. If you feel comfortable telling me about any ongoing emotional issues, then please feel free to tell me when we meet in person.
3: I then move onto an in depth 3-Dimensional assessment where we will break the body up into different regions while respecting their interconnections. We will then have a clear understanding of how each joint moving or not moving and relate it back to your story. That is why no low back pain patient is treated the same.
4: I then can start to link the dots by gathering all the information and explaining to you the potential “why” to your problem. The beauty of the assessment is as we go through this process of movement exploration, you will experience for the first time in your lifetime the differences in how your joints move or do not move.
5: Then using a combination of my osteopathic and movement skills, we go about restoring what you have be missing in your body’s movement potential. It can feel very empowering when you start to feel the changes occurring. Test, treat, assess, test, treat, re assess
6: Together we then go on this journey with your individualised plan of action that helps us regain efficient motion back to your joints and tissues and help you reach your goal objectives.
